Workaround did not help!
I was first able to add the Twitter account after deleting the desktopcouch
files. But - it simply did not work. Account was added but with no use.
So try to delete and add again... again not successful. :-/
Seems this bug is a real couch-potatoe... (sorry for this bad j
NOT FIXED! Gwibber is unusable at the moment, no chance to add Twitter
accounts. Same errors as Christian.
Tried also to uninstall Gwibber completely and reinstall... did not
help.

Had the same issue with my Philips SPC900NC/OO webcam, which uses the
pwc driver.
Installing libv4l - 0.5.2-1 work wonderful for me, even starting Skype
quite normal without LD_PRELOAD .
Hopefully this libv4l version make it into the final release.

After the latest update to kernel 2.6.22-12, Ubuntu installed beside the

Solution: the package "compiz-gnome" was missing! Install that package,
an everything will be allright.
I am not sure, why it wasn't installed, if I had deleted it accidentally
or if it was missing from the beginning.

Good news: It works now! No problems to connect to an WPA encrypted
network!
At least for my installed Gutsy. For the live-cd (daily-build from
yesterday) I have to reactivate network and wireless and activate it
again. After that I was able to connect to my WPA network.

I've changed status from "fix commited" to "confirmed" because this bug
is still present in Feisty.
I've tried adding "options snd-hda-intel model=ref" to /etc/modprobe.d
/alsa-base (solution from TiagoMacambira) but this doesn't fix the

It seems that no process access my webcam on startup. I tested this with
lsof.
Hm... maybe it could be a driver issue. My webcam uses the pwc-driver.
In edgys kernel the pwc-module is absolutely crippled and produces only
grey images, so I have to install it manually.

To this happens only, if I have the kino-plugins installed. If I only
install the package "kino" without additional plugins, kino starts
normal.

Uhhh... ok, I was afraid my webcam is broken I can confirm, only a
grey picture in edgy.
Until edgy it stopped working, now I know the reason.
It's always frustrating if something worked in a previous Ubuntu version
and crushed in the new Ubuntu version. Even you can't Ubuntu blaim for
this.

Tried to make an udev-rule, but it doesn't work. The switch from video0
to video1 is pure random.
This started when udev replaced hotplug.

firefox!! New user will think "Linux is so ugly" :-(
