I just noticed that when my automated backup popped up to run and prompt
me for the password that the window positioned itself where the OK /
CANCEL buttons were hidden in the bottom of my screen. So, this is not
isolated to Thunderbird. It has to do with Gnome / Unity.

Just for clarification. Even if you move the window as high as you can
get it you still can not see the bottom on the window. It HAS to be
maximized or you have to resize the window from the top to see the
bottom lines. But by default you will look for hours trying to figure
out why your setting

I have tested this same file on Fedora and OpenSuse using LiveCD's of their
OS's and it works perfectly there

When configuring your settings you can not see the "OK" and "CANCEL"
buttons unless you have the windows maximized. I spent hours trying to
figure out why my settings were not being saved.

Here is a solution though it is not a fix. Switch to Kubuntu. Okular
works perfectly. I absolutely MUST have these pdf's to work so I have
to move to KDE.

The top half of text is cut off on some documents like my bank
statements which makes me think it is a post script font issue.
However, the same pdf file displays correctly in adobe reader (linux),
xpdf, and gv. Graphics are fine in evince and text is ok in other
documents.
I can confirm this bug in 12.10. My bank statements have the top half
of all characters cut off. They are fine in gv, xpdf, and adobe reader.

I have the same issue and I have a brand new Lenovo laptop with a fresh
install of 12.10 on it. I just deleted all of my .goutputstream-* files
and I am going to watch it to see if I can determine when they are
created. So this is not a hardware problem or 3rd party software

I have performed a clean install of 8.04.3 LTS and performed all updates
without installing the NVIDIA graphics driver and tty1 thru tty6 are
fine now. Once I install the NVIDIA driver though I am sure they will
