Public bug reported: The top half of text is cut off on some documents like my bank statements which makes me think it is a post script font issue. However, the same pdf file displays correctly in adobe reader (linux), xpdf, and gv. Graphics are fine in evince and text is ok in other documents. I think it must lie with the font used in the document.
I will add this information that I tested this same pdf file with fedora and it displayed correctly. So, that points to the ubuntu distribution and fonts. At least to me that is what it points to.
