I get this same error on every file I've customized in /etc. Very
frustrating for trying to automate upgrades via Ansible.

FWIW, I'm also running into this, but found a work-around. It was
suggested at
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.debian.devel.bugs.general/1172657
to edit the pg_upgradecluster script and increase the timeout from 5
seconds to 30.

Public bug reported:
We're using xdelta3 as part of a backup system and the version in
Precise (3.0) is hanging when diffing large files. The diff files
themselves are fine, but the process never quits. I found this fixed bug
showing that xdelta3 3.0.3 should have a fix for this issue.

Julian, thanks for looking into the issue. I hope an updated package
will eventually come out. I'll use the work-around for now.

Turns out this is actually not a bug in the pylucene package, but rather
a result of upgrading from Lucid to Precise. The default-jre-headless
package creates the /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk symlink upon a fresh
install, but not during the distro upgrade.

I am running several Lucid servers and only some of them are having a
problem where intializing the VM for pylucene causes the CPU to get

@Jasey The 2.6.32.50 version is the one from the upstream kernel (see
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/longterm/v2.6.32/ChangeLog-2.6.32.50).
That kernel is the version that Ubuntu's 2.6.32-38.83 kernel is based on

My mistake. A closer read of Chris' link shows the 'linux-

The report Chris linked to shows the -50 update went out on 2012-01-24,
but linux-image-2.6.32-41-server seems to be the latest available on the
mirrors (according to aptitude search linux-image-2.6.32). Sorry to
pester, but how does one find the -50 update? Thank you.
