Public bug reported:

I am running several Lucid servers and only some of them are having a
problem where intializing the VM for pylucene causes the CPU to get
pegged. They all have gigabytes of memory free, so I don't believe that
to be relevant. I can make this happen without even calling any pylucene
functions.

Steps:
1) Run 'python'
2) import lucene
3) lucene.initVM(lucene.CLASSPATH)

at this point the CPU utilization hits about 60-70% in top. This was
not a problem until about a month ago. If anyone has suggestions on how
I could narrow this down I would really appreciate it.

** Affects: pylucene (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
