Actually I just installed the Numix Gtk theme - and now it works. Even
with 1.5 vs 1.0 pixel scaling between the monitors.
Appears to be a scaling issue with the images used for
close/maximize/minimize in the default ubuntu theme.

I have an Asus UX32VD with nvidia/intel hd4000 graphics, and I have
tried several kernels from 3.5.x -> 3.6-rc1 (both on Ubuntu 12.04 and
12.10), and everytime I get a black wallpaper after I open the lid after
suspend to ram.
Just setting the wallpaper manually again will make it appear as usual,
I have attached a patch that fixes the problem.
Turns out that XI was updated to 2.2 some time ago:

I just diff'ed the output from either version of the g-s-d, and it
appears that it finds no xinput2 support in 3.4.2:

For now there's some dependency problems when trying to rebuild gnome-

Installing the gnome-settings-daemon from ppa:ricotz/staging fixes the
problem.
it does however introduce some other problems, like the keyboard layout
not working and such, but its definitely a regression in the package.

I also have a thinkpad T61p which it hit by the same bug, but booting
other operating systems (and older linux kernels) makes the wired
ethernet work just fine. So it doesn't seem permanently corrupted like
many bugreports suggests.

I just installed the final version of kubuntu 7.10, and followed the
instructions provided in the first post:
1.) Install kdmtheme and kde-kdm-themes
2.) Startup System Settings.
3.) Appearance > KDM Theme Manager
4.) Click the Administrator Mode... button. And enter admin mode.
5.) Check Enable K
It was pulled because of some compability issue with the fade and
Tonio_'s macbook, and we feared that it could occur other systems too.
Although I havent been able to reproduce it :(

Well it seems like you're using GNOME for your desktop, but this bug
report is for KDE and the corresponding customized logout we use in
favor of the default Konqy logout.
I've talked to some guys in #ubuntu-devel, and they figure its a saved
session that causes you problems. Please ask in #ubuntu

Under normal circumstances, putting in an '&' in the text would produce
an accelerator key automatically.
However this is not the case when QToolButton is used with setPixmap and
setTextLabel (feel free to test that yourself).
So I had to do a workaround which seem to work fine though.

I'm using WPA2, and sometimes the applet just appear briefly, and then
disappears again.
Seems like timing issues, although I dont think its possible to even
control the order of applets in KDE :(

I think there's still an issue on feisty.
I'm experiencing this very same once in every 2nd reboot or so. The
knetworkmanager applet loads, but then disappears again.
Restarting of knetworkmanager allows you to connect to networks again.
Although I log out, and log in again it does not attempt t
