I've got an Asus A6M laptop, on which I've tried to install 8.04.1 (2.6.24-19
!!!) from the netboot image I found here [1].

My network controller can not get an ip from dhcp after installing the 7th
December build of Ubuntu Hardy.

Even after copying the 32bit files into the /usr/lib32 folder, you
might not be able to set up flashplugin.
I recommend your reading this article [1] in that case. It really worked for me!

that sounds strange, but I couldn't solve my problem just simply
reinstalling ia32-libs

I also studied the problem and suppose that libpcre.so.3 is the file
that generates the bug.
I've even copied the 32bit version file to my /usr/lib32, then
successfully installed the flashplugin-nonfree, but without any
results.
I mean the flash in firefox still doesn't appear!

i've installed the package, yes I own a 64bit version of hardy.
But after the install, when I visit a page with flash it says that I
don't have flash plugin installed so I should go to adobe.com to get

My laptop lid remains as in suspend mode in gutsy! I have an asus a6m
(sempron 3400+/nforce2/nvidia go 6100). I did not installed any firmware
