Confirming this! I've got an Asus A6M laptop, on which I've tried to install 8.04.1 (2.6.24-19 !!!) from the netboot image I found here [1]. http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy-updates/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/
