I have experienced the same problem; gksu was taking > 20 seconds to complete.

The problem went away for a while but has now returned - I think it
came back with 3.2.0-28
I've just updated the kernel to 3.2.0-29-generic and this pic (attached)
is with 3.2.0-29

A process of elimination has narrowed down the problem to a webcam - the
IPEVO Point 2 View USB Document Camera - which is the cause for of this
problem. (The problem seems unrelated to lvm2)

I've booted from 9.04 (2.6.28-11) on CD and the problem --
"usb_submit_urb(ctrl) failed" -- is there
It's there too on 10.04 (2.6.32-21) and 12.04 (3.2.0-23) booted from CD. The
rason I think I didn't notivce is that other processes were takign longer
dmesg 3.2.0-27-generic from SSD

Two updates - first I have tested older versions fo the kenel from disk (rather
than from CD as above) and the problem is present in 2.6.33 and 2.6.38. Second,
the problem only manifests itself when booting from my hard drives (an LVM2
striped array), and not when I boot from the SSD I installed
Addendum to #15: I forgot to mention that I also had to reinstall VMware
tools.

I don't think this is a dmraid issue (since I've removed dmraid and the
bug persists). However, since my LVM partitions are generating these
errors I wonder if it could be that certain partition formats (LVM and
dmraid) are unreadable by inotify, hence the error?
