2014-11-15 Thread Shawn Willden
I'm seeing this on Trusty, on an HP Z420 and an HP Z620, both with nVidia cards. It occurs primarily when transitioning between workspaces. I've found that I can (mostly) work around it by always transitioning first to a blank workspace (one with no windows, just the background image), and then to

[Bug 683987] Re: Location bar searches change to HTTPS SSL GOOGLE

2013-08-01 Thread Shawn Willden
It is no longer true that image search is unavailable via HTTPS. As far as I can tell, Google is fully functional via SSL. Defaulting to using Google via SSL is the right thing to do. I suggest this bug be closed as obsolete. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubun

I would like to be able to tether my phone via bluetooth and use it as a mobile broadband device. This works well through the GNOME UI, but appears to be impossible in KDE. Even if I use blueman to connect to the device and activate dial-up-networking, the KDE network management interfaces (neith

2010-05-14 Thread Shawn Willden
I went through all of the suggestions mentioned, and then ultimately found that the problem was that LaTeX wasn't working because something was screwy in the ~/.texmf-var directory. I moved that directory out of the way and LaTeX and LyX both started working correctly. -- [Lucid] LyX install non

I think I've fixed this. It appears the the field of the utmp structure that holds the X display changed between feisty and gutsy, so timeoutd has basically been completely broken for managing timeouts on local X sessions for gutsy and hardy. The code was assuming that the ut_line field held the
