10.04 I never had that problem. The problem started the same day I

zszoet,It wasn't working for me. But the reason was that the gnome power
manager wasn't running for some reason. I executed it and the brightness
controls started working perfectly.

I purged stegdetect (stegbreak is included in that package) but I still

I filled the bug some time ago, I dont remember what version I was using
at that time.
Right now Im using gutsy. The link is gone and stegbreak fails because
it needs the file:

but i rarerly use it. So I had to run the vmware-config-network to
bridge the eth1 and eth2 that I use

I compiled a custom kernel (2.6.21-rcX) using make-kpkg, and then
installed the deb files (image and headers). The menu.lst wasnt updated
to make the new kernel the default, so I change the file manually. A bit
later I had some problems with the kernel so I remove it (using
