Still happening with Quadrapssel an Lightsoff in Lucid x86 with Compiz
enabled and nomodeset, though Lightsoff does not leave any terminal
output. In both cases starting a new game from the application menu
restores game area visibility.

Same issue here: bottom panel is invisible until clicking on it or the
desktop. I haven't made any modifications to Gutsy other than install
gstreamer packages, Comix, Firestarter, and Mplayer. No modification
