Same issue here: bottom panel is invisible until clicking on it or the
desktop. I haven't made any modifications to Gutsy other than install
gstreamer packages, Comix, Firestarter, and Mplayer. No modifications to
the panels. Problem persists even after applying the most recent updates
and restarting (Wednesday, October 3). Using compiz on 'normal', and
haven't used--or even installed--compizconfig-settings-manager.
Using Gutsy 64-bit, GeForce 6200 with nvidia-glx-new.
