Well, I don't think, it's mplayer's fault. In some cases other OpenGL
applications crash, too. The problem lies either with compiz or with the
ATI graphics driver and AMD has recently fixed some bugs in their
software.
Anyway, here is my lcpci -vvnn output. Because I deactivated compiz
months ago,
Same here. But here is a quick fix (but its not a solution):
1. before opening the pdf, open the searbar with Strg+F
2. open the pdf. You'll see, that nothing gets loaded.
3. Close the searchbar. And -- oh wonder -- the pdf is there :/
