Support EPSON proprietary drivers from Ava
I too have just found my Jaunty box with the "Power Down" message
displayed on the monitor from 9 hours previously and the PC still
powered up. It wouldn't respond to anything, I had to hold the power
button down to get it to switch off.
I have seen this several times before with Jaunty. I believe

I just refreshed update manager, there were 8 updates, including
restricted modules with the nvidia driver. I installed, rebooted, and
everything is working correctly.
I think this is due to having "proposed updates" repository selected in
"software sources", which I will now de-select.
