Weird: printing seems to work fine (page is printed fully, paper goes
out) when printing from Cinnamon instead of Xfce desktop. Could it be
some conflict between these two environments..? Cinnamon is O.K., Xfce
has problems.

printed something after 18:00.

I'm running the LTS version and this is no longer a problem for me. I
don't plan to upgrade to Natty, so I'm not gonna be able to supply you
with any such test results;
I've only tried switching profile on the hardware tab today on my Ubuntu
10.04 and it was without problems.

I see the same issue as Aswarp reported (the "shutdown problem"), only in
GNOME, both 32bit and 64bit. When clicking shutdown (or restart) in
"System->Shutdown" nothing happens.
Even without any proprietary drivers. And it seems it happens randomly -
sometimes it works and the next day not and
I've tested also the mainline kernel (2.6.32.11) - but it doesn't work
at all - it freezes right after starting (similarly to bug 546117)
