In 12.10 I have found the problem persists after removing indicator- power and gnome-power-manager. To work around the problem I have edited the session start-up file /etc/xdg/autostart/xfce4-power-manager.desktop: replacing 'Exec=xfce4-power-manager' with 'Exec=xfce4-power-manager --no-daemon'

This bug has reappeared in Maverick. In Epiphany, when a pdf file is opened a blank grey window is shown with the outline of the evince viewer. Re-sizing the window or Edit->Find (CTRL-F) displays the pdf file. The package versions on my system are as follows: epiphany-browser 2.30.2-1ubuntu7

I have also found the same problem. I have just upgraded to maverick 10.10; some of the truetype fonts that were previously available to X windows are no longer available. In particular, I have been using Bitstream Vera Sans, a package that is no longer part of Ubuntu. Its replacement is Dejavu
