I made a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10 on the same computer. That also
causes my session to restart with bad usb communication.
Other distributions don't reset the session with bad usb communication.
For example OpenSUSE 11.3 shows errors in the log files, but the session is not
reset:

With some versions this problem with the default icons in the toolbar occur,
and other versions are okay.
But some older versions are okay, and some newer versions are not.

I am also having the same problem (with Intrepid).
With the Intrepid updates of the last weeks, rhythmbox improved a little, but
the problem is yet not solved.
While downloading a podcast, my CPU is almost at 100%. This causes sometimes
the user-interface of rhythmbox to crash, and sometimes rhyt
