I have the same problem, but it is not consistent. I just installed a second dvd-drive and have now this: - first dvd-drive : dvd-rom sata samsung - second dvd-drive : dvd-writer ide philips
Discs in the second dvd-drive are not mounted. But after changing the disc in the first dvd-drive, and after running "sudo lshw", a disc in the second dvd-drive was mounted. I could also burn a disc, without affecting the movie running from the first dvd-drive. After a restart, it returned to the initial situation and a disc in the second dvd-drive was not mounted. -- ubuntu can't mount or does not see my 2nd DVD ROM drive https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/500284 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
