changing MTU is working. Good that is kinda very easy to do, but it
would be good to get this fixed in Lucid.

While not wanting to turn this into discussion thread, as staunch Ubuntu
supporter I agree that we have ignored proxy users for a while. For
brighter side, we have definite plans for releasing proxy supporting
Gwibber in PPA for Lucid within 2 months, so proxy users won't be left

After booting and loging in, computer freezes for 10 or so seconds and
dmesg has this. I think - but not sure - this wasn't a problem before
updates around beta2, but certainly it is regression from Karmic. I
tried to report this with ubuntu-bug, but Ubuntu claimed that newest
Vlad, try to download http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20100419
/lucid-desktop-i386.iso and boot with it and then test sound. And then

it's mostly means feature maturity. For example, 0.4 version has very
correct GNOME proxy support, where previous versions where lacking stuff
like authentication, also inner logic has improved.

I got EXACTLY same problem on Lucid Live CD 10.04, which starts to worry
me, because my Karmic install was smooth and without such problems. CD-
ROM drive is ok, I tried two different CD-RWs - the same problem.

Well, it is not ugly, but it lacks details which GNOME's default totem
icon provides, that's why it gives a little wtf moment for everyone who

Seemingly when I installed Alpha3 modemmanager wasn't added to ubuntu-
desktop task and therefore no modem fun for me in NetworkManager.
Installed it and everything works now like a charm.
