I ran into the same issue with lucid. I created a /usr/share/pam-configs
/nuno-ldap with a similiar workaround as described above. To use with
pam-auth-config, you will need to activate both nuno-ldap and unix. My
nuno-ldap has precedence over unix, since it has a higher priority.

9 and 10 versions of the distributions. If the debian people can solve
