There was an update of the driver this morning; since then I have been
having difficulties with my CUDA code. I tried installing this
alternative driver from the Additional Drivers manager, but the
installation encountered this problem.

I've managed to apply the patch in the fedora bug report, and it seems
to work (atleast for me), which was a relief since xiphos just isn't the
same.

I have a similar problem (on 11.04, KDE updated through the backport
PPA). It also devoured my emails. When I turned on the spam/anti-virus
filters, it deleted them from the IMAP server (my email provider is
GMX), ran the checks, then tried to upload them back to the server and I

crash. I had a .desktop file in ~/Desktop (left over from some third
party software installation) which was created by root and which I had
permission neither to read nor write. Removing the file or changing the
permissions stopp

notice is that amixer is not trying to configure my Realtek ALC861 but
"Generic 11c1 Si3054", which I think (I could well be mistaken) is my

Just started this afternoon (18/10/2006); am unable to compile any code
with gcc-4.03 - including code I compiled yesterday and I haven't
changed since. I am running dapper, updated each day.
