I have this problem too - especially annoying as the minimum (& default)
width of the window is wider than my screen width. I can resize the
window wider but not narrower.

Maybe problem as in bug 279409 ?
Try specifying the netmask as 24.0.0.0 rather than 255.255.255.0 to see
if that fixes it.

I have the same problem:
Start with Oxygen White theme
Go into System settings, select the KDE classic theme & click on Apply
The correct pointer shows throughout the settings window & my desktop
Close the settings window
Re-open the settings window - the pointer within the window is Oxygen White,
I agree with the need to be more user-friendly with this situation - if
it arises could the user be prompted (if they want to be, or execute the
user-specified default action) to select from:
1. Don't mount the disk
2. Mount the disk as read-only
3. Run ntfsfix and mount the disk as read/write
4.
I had the same problem (static ip would not work) & spotted bug 279409.
I changed the netmask for my static definition in knetworkmanager from
255.255.255.0 to 24.0.0.0 and my network connection works.

Upgrade to Edgy via Adept (clean load from CD wouldn't boot on my IBM TP
600X though it booted fine on my Dell Dimension desktop, gave err=2
error) as requested.
Problem still exists as above (I have to issue "sudo iwconfig wlan0 key
s:" whilst the network tries to start in order for my Wifi card
Trying to install Gutsy 7.10 on my old IBM 600X that had the problems
above and get error messages:
