Simple scan 3.20.0 on ubuntu 16.04 does not consider a4 size as default
now. It scans A4 size but saves the resulting image with a blackportion
at the top end. I had no issues earlier and it used to take a4 setting
as default when set in edit-preferences but not now. Some upgrade has
affected it.
Had a similar problem with Ubuntu 9.10, Lenovo T60, intel 3945Aabg,
iwl3945 driver. It worked with 9.04, I suppose because Network Manager
was disabled (and I think this was by default). I know I had tried to
enable NM with 9.04 but it didn't work so I just shut it back off. I
think it sort of w
/var/crash does not show anything. Maybe its because totem just closes
OR it just aborts OR in other words exits with error code 11, request
code 132, minor code 19. This same error comes even with vlc. Only the
serial number of the error reported changes.

work with 7.x either. What I have found with my T60 is this:
The Thinkpad wireless LED does not work with Ubuntu. Don't let this throw you.
It is on if the switch is on, the LED just doesn't work.

I am using a Lenovo T60, and I thought it wasn't working either. I
finally discovered after looking at the logs that it does work, but that
the wireless LED does not work. However, I have a problem with the
network manager. I am using WPA2, and after I select WPA2 and put the
passphrase in, it w
