But bruno, this happens when I move my ~/.mozilla out of the way, so Firefox
creates an empty one - it cannot be any addons.
I tried -safe-mode and made no difference.

Just wanted to say that I tried on Windows and file transfer is
extremely slow in this phone and the K750i. By slow I mean slower than
half a USB 1.1 connection. A 6MB file can take up to 2 minutes to
transfer. I transferred 1.4GB worth of music to the phone in about 5
hours (!!!). No difference by

support/kde-guidance/guidance-power-manager.py) but it doesn't produce
any output to the console no matter what I do on the gui (change screen
brightness, cpu speed, the works). The only output I get after

I disagree, Mark. This is a HAL, not a KDE issue. The applet is NOT
misbehaving, it is acting properly. It is HAL itself who fails to detect
CPU capabilities, as per my two last posts - restarting the HAL service
after boot has finished will workaround the issue. Only then will HAL
report proper CP
I've revised the config of several other K/Ubuntu machines of people
around and they all have /etc/network/interfaces populated with relevant
stuff, and they are all default installations of Dapper or Edgy.
As n1ywb, this is going to bite quite a lot of people.

Hum, I reported just now the same on another bug... I will copy and
paste, since this bug seems newer than that one.
Having the same problem as Brian. Pretty much the same config as Brian
as well - except that I already had all my network cards in
/etc/interfaces. But it worked just fine until yes

Well, it goes wrong all the time, what I mean is that it always reports
zero MHz (plugged or unplugged).
I cannot find anything that suggests processor freq in lshal's output, the
processor related info is:

There seems to be something funny about APIC and LAPIC between Linux's

Sorry, I had a confusion, but there is something weird going on.
Correction:
/sys/bus/acpi/devices/acpi/ is linked to /sys/devices/acpi/
In /sys/devices/acpi there are two links (bus/ and subsystem/) that link
to /sys/bus/acpi
So you can CD to:
/sys/devices/acpi/bus/devices/acpi/bus/devices/acp
I just found something weird, might it be related?
The folder /sys/bus/acpi/devices/ only contains a folder called "acpi",
which is linked to /sys/bus/acpi!! So you can CD inside of that forever:

I have noticed that if the laptop is powered and is doing something (for
example, amarok's playing a file), performance is also normal.
So there must be some issues in how the acpi thing is allocating
resources when the laptop is powered and mostly idle.
Performance is normal if I deactivate ACPI
I can see that CPU temp has dropped a couple of degrees after stopping
the service, cheers :)
Still the performance problems tho. Nothing changed on that.
