I have done what Benno (thanks Benno :)) suggested and it oubviously workarounded the problem (adding 20hal restart on rc.local).
Just for the record, I've found that acppi-support is run almost at the end of the boot process (S99acpi-support), whereas dbus is loaded at the beginning (S12dbus), might this be related? acpid is loaded pretty much at the beginning (S10acpid).
