I don't think this is related to rhythmbox.
I just got this myself, but several programs (firefox, rhythmbox, movie player)

On a brand-spankin' new Ubuntu-9.10 install from CD (I'm pretty sure it's the

Erasing the two files in the /var/lib/dbus folder fixed it for me, too.

Yes. Saw this in Jaunty today (Oct. 6th) after getting all the updates
(but NOT "jaunty-proposed").
I enabled remote desktop and rebooted.
Upon reboot and log-in (I have it configured to auto-login my account,
but I don't think that is related), vino-server is spawned over and over

I think gnome-session keeps restarting this process. What seems to be working
for me, as a work-around, is to have Remote Desktop disabled in the
session-preferences (gnome-session-properties).
Then, I use the command:
dbus-launch /usr/lib/vino/vino-server --display=:0.0 &

Update: This is interesting, I can work around this, even with the
backports-modules installed.
It seems there is no lbm_cw-lib80211_crypt_wep module installed by the Jaunty
backports.
If I issue the command:
sudo modprobe lib80211_crypt_wep
before trying to use WEP, everything seems to work f
I have a similar problem with the ipw2100 net card, and I think it is
related to the linux-backports modules, because when I uninstall and
reboot, it works just fine, but when I re-installed the linux-backports-
jaunty package (and dependencies), the error returns and my ipw2100 can

I'm getting this in 9.04 Jaunty, too. I think VLC crashed on me
recently and pressing the "moon" key started popping up the message.
@lubosz: I've been using "sudo pm-suspend" from a terminal to put my
computer to sleep - it seems to bypass the dbus checks. (do double-
quotes, of course)

I get this, too.
Strange thing is, I don't know exactly what causes it - sometimes it happens,
others it does not.
I wanted to prove that it was vino-server, so I installed the process

I can confirm espeak is broken. I've tried on at least 3 computers with

Mostly, it plays super-duper fast (like, an entire sentence in a
fraction of a second).

Let me clarify my problem, because I think we may now be discussing 3

First, "rdesktop", as this bug relates to, does not seem to have a UI

nice wrapper and spawns an rdesktop session. F
I found this because I was search for "no MII transceivers", but my

I am now using Intrepid 2.6.27-11-generic and the ipw2100 driver IS
working.
In a recent, previous 2.6.27 version of the kernel, it was NOT working.
But prior to that, it WAS working. So... something about this drive is
inconsistent.
Hopefully, this is some sort of clue to the problem.
