I googled around a bit and found out that the sound works if I edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base and add the line options snd-hda-intel model=3stack then sound works fine. Please do this adjustedment in the alsa driver part of the kernel for easy reference I have attached the output of lspci -vvnn
