I'm affected by it as well, ever since i upgraded from 10.10. Sometimes
it just goes away when i simply open then close the Ubuntu sound
preferences dialog. The audio works fine in mplayer but as soon as I use
VLC the audio has lots of noise and there is echo. Explicitly choosing

upgraded to 10.10 and certain https sites don't load using python's
httplib.

Yes, it appears to be the same as #554438. Using ctrl+alt+f1 +
ctrl+alt+f7 fixes the cursor. I've also use an ATI graphics card
