The main reason it seems from bug 713087 comment 14 is "because below 32 px,
progress bar and counter appear wrong!"
I feel there must be something that can be done to make this work even if the
progress bar has to hang over the launcher in the rare cases that it is visible.

Reverted back to 17.0~b3+build1-0ubuntu0.12.10.1~mtn1 but this was broken too
now.
Then I ran it with -safe-mode which worked fine, so I disabled all the plugins.
16.0.2+build1-0ubuntu0.12.10.1 worked fine now too and I subsequently enabled
all my extensions again and added the global menu plugin
17.0~b3+build1-0ubuntu0.12.10.1~mtn2 seems to have broken it again :(
I'll try to debug some more if I get time.

I honestly believed the behaviour got much worse in the proposed package.
Since thunderbird kept on freezing right after initiating any online activity
(sync imap or rss) and going online, I was forced to try out evilution again.
It seemed to work great until I discovered after a week that it was
thanks Tom, deleting /etc/xdg/autostart/gsettings-data-convert.desktop
fixed it for me too.

trying with svn.
With bzr branches I can work arround it with https+urllib:// , but with bzr-svn
I get another error:

I tried to reproduce it in the classic with effects mode, but there I can't
even get it to turn anything inverted.
I'm a kde user that would love to switch to unity, in kde land this is called
"Invert" and it works beautifully in 10
