I honestly believed the behaviour got much worse in the proposed package. Since thunderbird kept on freezing right after initiating any online activity (sync imap or rss) and going online, I was forced to try out evilution again. It seemed to work great until I discovered after a week that it was not sending out any email :( I decided to give thunderbird-next a try and it works great so far i.e no freezes and I'm able to send/receive mail and read rss: 17.0~b2+build1-0ubuntu0.12.10.1~mtn1
