First of all, xterm does not start in unicode mode by default, start it
with -u8 option or use wrapper uxterm.
Second, you need to specify correct font codepage for your font. I also
use Terminus.
What you want to add is this to .Xdefaults:
XTerm*utf8: 1
XTerm*font: -*-terminus-medium-*-*-*-18-*
I dont think it will be "done magically". Somebody have to do it. Did
you identify which particular git commit fixed the problem? Then
somebody could create a patch and propose it to 10.04.

I vote for this bug. My Totem/VLC cannot play DVDs too. I tried my own
non-encrypted DVD and it does not work too.

Today I have booted my computer, GDM went ok but lots of programs are
not working. For example apt-get:

I have tried this drive under WinXP and it seems it does not like
Verbatim DVD-R 16x media. But I have tried another box and it seems to
be OK. Very strange. Here is some log output when I tried to read burnt

1- load some playlist (more than 40 songs)
2- doubleclick on random songs
3- and over and over (let it play for just few seconds)

I have tested Opera 9.2 snapshot and its gone! They fixed it, we`ll just
have to wait for the final version (this weekly is a bit unstable).

Exactly same for me. I dont know if is it long delay -- I have never
waited and switched comp off. I have several connections with Samba and
NFS over OpenVPN. It seems OpenVPN stops BEFORE this and the unmoutn
script is not able to unmout.

process. There is something bad with font sizes, all pages rendered by

the lm-sensors guys added full support for this chipset. Its in the
2.6.18-rc kernel tree and it will be in the version 2.6.18 probably.
This chipset is not so new and it would be nice to have a patch for the
