Exactly same for me. I dont know if is it long delay -- I have never waited and switched comp off. I have several connections with Samba and NFS over OpenVPN. It seems OpenVPN stops BEFORE this and the unmoutn script is not able to unmout.
Very annoying. I created init script that will unmount all remote mounts before the openvpn stops - with no luck.
