After the install seemed to fail, I find the deamon IS running after
all. The install is erroneously detecting a fail where there is not one!

When I try to boot the Kubuntu Karmic alpha 4 AMD64 desktop CD I get a
text mode login screen. It had simple graphics up for the blue progress
bar but can't seem to regain graphics mode. After a minute it sez:

me now on my q9450 on 64 bit.

when I plug in two thumb drives at first the "safely remove" option is
on all of them but once I use the "safely remove" option on one thumb
drive the option dissapears from the other drive(s).
I am using kubuntu fiesty.
