Public bug reported:
The unity launcher freezes as soon as videos are switched to full screen on
chrome.
I am using:
Chrome 60.0.3112.101 64 bit
Unity 7.5.0
The issue is easily reproducible.
There was a bug filed for the same issue but with gnome. With an update
to gnome, the issue was fixed.
I've now uploaded zeroinstall-injector 2.12-4 to Debian. That should fix
the build problem here.

Not sure why it builds in Debian but not Ubuntu. If you need a quick
fix, adding a build-dependency on libsha-ocaml-dev should cause it to

Yes. I assumed it was unrelated to Unity but couldn't find a better bug
report tracking this in launchpad. I have a skylake processor and they
mention this in the patchwork thread that the issue is appearing in
skylake as well. I'll check to see if there are BIOS updates incoming to
my laptop.

This issue just started reappearing since about one week back on my XPS
15 9550 laptop. I've had the laptop for some time and not had this
issue. I don't know how to get more input to this bug to get it fixed.
However, this fixes it:

I have confirmed that the issue is also present in a self-compiled
upstream version of v4.9-rc8 and reported it at

Does the kernel from the ubuntu kernel ppa http://kernel.ubuntu.com

far as I see it still contains ubuntu specific patches. Or shall I first
confirm this problem also occurs on the vanilla upstream kernel directly

Please note that I have manually installed the yakkety kernel from the
kernel ppa in an attempt to fix the problem. The above logfiles where
generated on the yakkety kernel. The problem also occurs with the 16.04
"default" kernel version.
