[SYNC REQUEST] gchempaint 0.10.4-1 from Debian Unstabl
Hi there,
I don't think it's justified to close this bug. I have given a detailed
description to reproduce this bug, and have tried to reproduce this bug
in jaunty. As I have already stated, it is not possible to test it in
jaunty, as there is a *different* bug in jaunty stopping me from doing
it.
Sounds like an idea. The point I'm trying to make is that the average
user should be able to expect that the default packages that ship are in
a way safe. And cache poisoning has become a lot more common than maybe
10 years ago, as new techniques are found (think of the DNS flaw mid
2008 by Dan Kam
As my original bug #162053 was reported over 14 months ago, and not a
lot of things have happened since, I really do see this as a grave
security bug and propose to not ship Jaunty with adept until this bug is
fixed.
Any ideas towards this bug? I mean, what point does it have in having
security su
Just tried it now on 8.10. The problem went away.

Hi there,
Sorry for forgetting to mention that. I'm using an up-to-date Intrepid.
I tried the alpha 2 live CD of Jaunty, but it doesn't work, as it asks

Binary package hint: network-manager-vpnc
There are three patches posted on the upstream mailing list which add

A work-around for the time being is using /usr/lib/vpnc/cisco-decrypt in
the vpnc package. It only takes one command-line parameter (the
obfuscated secret), and spits out the group password.
Hope it helps :)
