I performed a reinstall a while back and the fs options screen seems to
have been completely removed, therefore by no longer allowing different
mounting options, this issue would be resolved, (Even if I don't
necessarily agree with it ;) )

Going back to the old kernel (2.6.32-23) and the problem goes away.

This seems pretty old and I'm not sure against which version of Ubuntu
it was filed against (Sorry kinda new to this bug system) however to
appears that the problem is two fold. I'm using karmic right now which
uses upstart. I've had trouble getting the following settings to work:

After trying to install Ubuntu 8.04.3, I discovered that when I was
trying to manually partition the system the old option that allowed me
to change the mounting options is no longer present, so I guess that
means this would be resolved, since it was decided sometime ago that
setting up your own op

I really don't know, I haven't run an install in quite a while. However
if I remember pretty correctly the error was very consistent and should
be easy to check. I just can't do it right now

Is there a way to increase the version of the self build binaries until
the fix is provided? Every update I perform it wants to overwrite the
version I have built with the broken version from the repository. I
would be nice to increase it just a little to prevent that.

ubuntuforums.org community. The way I fixed it was by typing these lines
into my Xorg.conf file in the mouse section:

release, so I would think this should be easily included in the ubuntu
