I'm experiencing this bug since my upgrade to 9.10 Karmic. There are
lots of tabs and flash windows. The problem seems to occur when I close
a tab.

Here's the dpkg -l info. I think maybe the dialog is crashing- it
pauses when I hit 'apply', and if I wait long enough before hitting 'OK'
the dialog closes anyway. I've been seeing a lot of bad interactions
between evolution and tracker, I'm afraid.

Public bug reported:
This bug is easy for me to demonstrate: open System/Preferences/Search
and Indexing. The Tracker Preferences dialog appears. Select the Email
tab and un-check the checkbox for email indexing. Click 'Apply', then
'OK'.
Now re-open the dialog and again select the Email tab.
Repeat of the same crash, this time shortly after a reboot. I believe
tracker-extract fought with firefox over memory.

I'm running an up-to-date Jaunty release with tracker 0.6.90-1ubuntu2,
and each time I reboot trackerd consumes all available memory for about
a half hour. During this time the system swaps and becomes essentially
unusable.
