I can say that I stopped using VMWare and started using Virtual Box and I have not had this issue since. I can also say that when I encountered this problem in VMware the processor in my windows guest never spiked. At the time I was having the trouble, based on the symptoms I was fairly certain i

I am having a similar problem. I am not sure if it is exactly the same or not. I notice that I can move my mouse around but cannot click anything or use the keyboard. However, if I watch my system monitor it still refreshes. It seems to me that vmware is locking up and has a hold of the keyboard an

Perhaps my problem is different. However, if I open my /usr/lib folder (with no video files in it) Nautilus will not display the folder contents for minutes and maybe longer. It has gotten up to 1.5GB on my machine while I was waiting for it to display. Perhaps it happens on any large folder. Jam

I apologize because I am a newb. However, the backtrace seemed to reveal nothing since nautilus never actually crashed for me. Here is what I did: 1. started nautilus using gdb as directed in the wiki above. 2. I browsed to my /usr/lib folder 3. after about 10 seconds my nautilus went gray (I bel

I am also having this problem using Hardy 64bit. I have 4GB of Ram so Nautilus is not crashing but it runs extremely slow (can take minutes to list directory contents) when listing large directories on my ntfs usb external drives as well as my internal ext3 drive. Currently Nautilus is using up 1

I have the no application issue also. sometimes it will work, sometimes not. Sometimes it will display the error and then still work for a little while. I am new to Ubuntu so I have not intentionally installed any firewalls. However, I do not know if any come with the default install. I don't eve
