To clarify, all future installs with hybrid Nvidia graphics will now
default to Wayland? So users won't have to work around this issue by
manually selecting Wayland in the log in screen? Cannot expect the
average user to figure this out.

It happens whether I use System Settings > Appearance > Behavior >

variation of the bug so that devs can look at the changes between
versions and figure out where things went from bad to worse. Most
