I also get two Thunderbird icons and don't have any scripts or anything
strange. I installed this system a couple of weeks ago from the 12.04.1
daily live cd. Though I have a home partition from my previous install.

I had this bug for a couple of days on my desktop machine running Ubuntu
10.10. It started after a kernel update, but that might not be relevant.
Motherboard is Abit AV8, Radeon 9600 graphics.
My mouse is Logitech Cordless Click! and plugging a similar Microsoft
mouse did not help right away, but
I had a lot of problems with this Maverick live cd. But finally got to
the desktop.
Corruption bugs are at least as bad as in the other versions. Though I
haven't yet seen the missing glyphs. And pause symbols are one bar only.

I haven't been using xfce for a long time. Now trying thunar in kde, I
can move 1000 jpg's without a problem. So it seems to be fixed in
feisty.
(In edgy this bug was very consistent: The exact number of files changed
around 110-130 i think. But I could always reproduce it.)

I found a way this bug can cause ugly crashes in real life. I bought a
second hard drive and tried making two swaps to be used simultaneosly.
That involves making the priorities fixed, and i ended up with
~$ cat /proc/swaps
FilenameTypeSizeUsedP
I purged cinepaint, cinepaint-data and cinelib with Synaptic's purge command,
and then installed
cinepaint_0.21-2-0ubuntu4.1~proposed1_amd64.deb
cinepaint-data_0.21-2-0ubuntu4.1~proposed1_all.deb
and libcinepaint0_0.21-2-0ubuntu4.1~proposed1_amd64.deb.
And I get a similar crash (on amd64 as w
