This seems to be a feature of DT_RUNPATH that is do not follow transitive
dependencies.
The problem is ld linker since v2.27(debian), enables by default new dtags ( it
uses RUNPATH instead of RPATH), so some dependencies may not been found at

I have the latest kernel&driver from hardy-proposed, and there is no change :
"I have had this problem in totem and vlc, with vlc only having trouble after
it happened in totem."
It seems to me that Totem/GStreamer change something on the xv settings, and
not other players.

macromedia and using "sudo dpkg-reconfigure flashplugin-nonfree"
