I have a Dell M1530 and am having the same problem. If I apply the deb
in this post I don't see any options in the Digital Input Source on the
options tab.
Should I open a new bug for this?

Confirmed again, it doesn't seem to always be 7 changes though, but it's
always somewhere around that number.
I can reproduce it by rolling over the min/max/close button or by
changing the title by switching tabs. It does seem to be limited to
maxamized windows though.

It no longer happens to me as my laptop starts resuming from suspend
immediately after opening the lid w/o pressing the button. I really like
that behavior.
