I was able to work around this by using to select a source and

installation of windows XP on host_device on lvm on Gentoo. Set my drive
like that "-drive file=/dev/mapper/vg_main-
lv_profstr,format=host_device,cache=none,if=ide,media=disk" before the
first stage of windows XP installation.

I'm not shure if it is a bug. Had the same problem on Gentoo. It seems
one should use cache=none when using row or host_device on lvm. Setting
-drive ...,cache=none before the first stage of windows XP installation
solved the problem.
