To manage notif
workaround for now is remove the utf8x ofcourse, but the template should
work out of the box.
two suggested fixes:
1) adjust the templates, or 2) deliver it with the correct latex distribution
that contains this file in the ls-R hash.
I would say the latter, but that should be more work.

The latex installation that comes with kile doesn't include utf8x.def
This file is necessary to run the "create new article", thus we cannot use the
predefined templates.

Close it, I'm using ImageMagick 6.6.2-6 at the moment, and a newer
version of CImg. (Kubuntu 11.04) And I don't seem to have this problem
anymore.

I actually tried that, but the recompiling/configuring ImageMagick did
not work for me: I couldn't get it to compile with the png/jpeg options.
I tried several options, I even tried to compile more recent releases
from the respective software developers, but I could not get it to
compile satisfact

I installed cgal, cgal-dev, cgal-demo.
I tried to compile my project using cgal and I got the error message:
"/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgfortran"
(At the other computer it build without errors)

It's a bit off topic perhaps, but I've got a work around on getting the
images off the Nikon D40, and possibly the other camera's aswell
set the camera in [settings] => [USB] to MTP/PTP,
then ubuntu will prompt for extraction of images in hardy heron.

So I have got latex package a4wide installed via synaptic in one of the
above. But a4.sty was not included.
