Would it be possible to pick one openssl version and statically compile
the ones that use other, or have some simple tool that helps you point a
build process to the required version ?
e.g. that the libssl package tries *less* to be a seamless upgrade, when
it is not a seamless upgrade either way.
I had to clean out a custom built pulseaudio from december 2014. I'll
look around some for cruft, but at least sound now works :)
Sorry for the inconvenience, this can now close.

Public bug reported:
Sound playback with aplay works (directly to ALSA, I think). Sound
widget on taskbar displays a grey muted icon. Sound Settings has no idea
that I even have audio.

I solved this by changing the snd-hda-intel probe_mask in

Public bug reported:
HDMI audio does work on trusty kernel 3.13, but does not on the lts-
utopic 3.16 kernel. Which (probably) means HDMI audio does not work on
other nvidia cards, and also on 14.10 utopic. I can playback sound in

I haven't seen this odd behaviour by the mythbuntu control center in

It might just be that `tc` from the iproute package on precise can't

I also have an OS X/PPC frontend, for which compilation is problematic.
Anyways, since the Mac Mini G4 even struggles with SD playback it will
be decommissioned in the near future. So I'll update as soon as
possible.
I guess MythTV is outside of the 'long term support' scope of Canonical?

One of my remote MythFrontends only loads to a grey screen (the theme
background). Every now and then it does load, but then viewing
recordings or LiveTV doesn't show any image and hangs for a while. Both
the backend and the frontend run Ubuntu 10.
I am seeing this (no crashes though) with MythBuntu 10.04, so using XFCE
and 0.23-fixes.
Will probably switch the desktop to gnome as a workaround.

I just mailed Dave Jones, the kernel's cpu frequency driver maintainer.
As far as I can tell; Ubuntu doesn't actually start powernowd when the
ondemand governor is available. So TERM signals do not apply here.
Setting the governor to "performance" does, though. At the moment I'll

What exactly *is* the problem with adding those to the powernowd
