I can confirm that the crashes happen when the tooltips that are very
large pop up when i hover over a variable that's a huge matrix in
Matlab.

When I have compiz running, it crashes randomly.

After connecting to the network from command line, the network manager in KDE
doesn't show the wired network as "not managed" as before. But instead shows
that no wired network exists, because of which pidgin keeps waiting for the
connection without connecting.
