I am confirming this bug for my DELL LATITUDE D620 (old machine) and
Ubuntu Trusty LTS.
The trouble with the touchpad driver - the touchpad being misrecognised
as a PS2 mouse - seems to occure with different DELL models as well as
even with different manufacturer

I tried the steps in #4. Worked for me.
BUT: In fact I can't confirm nor deny the bug because I use NEMO instead
of NAUTILUS FILES now for some weeks and it is all okay there..

Confirming this for my Trusty with a slight difference in the behavior:
When moving URLs the URL is copied and produces a local HTML file. If I
hold CAPS a error message appears, if I hold CTR + CAPS nothing

I have Precise now for some time. Everything works okay so far.
But..restarting and shutting down does not work. It locks me out
instead. At the logout screen I can do a normal shutdown/reboot.
A fresh installation of precise did not help solve this problem.

Is it possible to write a gnome patch on this for a simple user? Well...
as posted on "Brainstorm" by me, the System Settings should urgently be
restructured and graphically developed in my opinion...
