Public bug reported:

Every once in a while the software updater prompts in my 12.10
GNOME/MATE without showing anything in the fields "Details of updates"
and "technical description". So there's no info at all although Ubuntu
wants to install some 100 KB of software (see attached screenshot). By
closing and restarting the "Software Updater" the problem vanishes
showing the complete installable software of some MBs with details and
technical description. Not reproducible. And - I think - not very
critical.
