What GTK engine are running for KDE? I always found that these can be
buggy, with the exception of QtCurve seems to work for me.
Try this:
Install QtCurve (sudo aptitude install gtk2-engines-qt
Which version of synaptic and Ubuntu release is affected by this bug?

Attempted to uninstall the nvidia driver by uninstalling it via jockey. And
running sudo dpkg -a --configure which fails.
Then reinstalled the driver via jockey and then tried to sudo dpkg -a
--configure. Still no luck. Is this related to a bug in jockey?

Could this be caused my installing the nvidia restricted drivers (177)
via jockey-kde?
I'm current version of jockey-kde is 0.5~beta1-0ubuntu1. But I'm not
sure which particular version of jockey-kde I used for installing nvidia
drivers.

After installing the virtualbox guest additions for Hardy, and configure
xorg.conf to use those drivers; the mouse cursor disappears. The mouse
still works, but the cursor itself is rendered invisible.
Expected behaviour:

I am guessing that disabling themes and import/install of new themes,
probably stems from the same problem.

Upgraded strigi-daemon to 0.5.6-0ubuntu1. Strigi no longer takes up
100% CPU, instead it crashes a while after starting indexing. Basically
after I updated this morning, I deleted .strigi/ and tried to index
again. Strigi crashes continually after the first 200 documents
indexed.

Originally, I thought that poppler-utils specifically pdftotext was causing the
100% CPU usage. But after a second look, I don't think that this is the
problem.

Version in the k3d section of /var/lib/dpkg/status.
